Solution – Oscar Awards
The prime purpose of the event was to throw a classy party with delicious food, drinks, fun and dancing; the dress code was gala attire. It was important that an eventual theme did not dominate the event. Therefore, we decided on ‘Oscar Awards’ as the party theme. The central elements were classy attire and movies, and the Oscar theme and the statuette were reflected in the visual design of all branding materials (invitations, banners, seating plans, menus etc.).

Two powerful moving sky lights illuminated the sky above the venue, enabling the guest to locate the party from a far distance, and created a real life Oscar Award atmosphere. A stretch-limo was parked in front of the venue accompanied by two starlettes, and two paparazzi photographers taking pictures of the arriving guests.

After a short visit to the cloak room, all guest entered the welcome area on the red carpet while being video recorded and having their pictures taken. The photos were available on PFA’s intranet the following week and the video recordings were broadcasted during the evening’s gala dinner.

Øksnehallen was divided into two separate sections; an area for the welcome reception and an area for the following gala dinner. When the curtains were drawn open to the dinner section, the guest were accompanied to their seats by the striking Star Wars theme song and an impressive light design. The atmosphere was set and so were the expectations to the rest of the evening. Each table was named after a famous actor or actress; for example Johnny Deep and Julia Roberts.

True to the real Oscar concept, different prizes were awarded during the evening; for example The Best Colleague, The Best Team etc. The Danish standup comedian, Lars Hjortshøj, hosted the PFA Oscar Awards and brilliantly presented the evening’s different events and entertained the guests throughout the evening.

During dinner, a group of amateur actors – all PFA staff members – showed their colleagues what they had been practicing on for months. It was a great laugh.

All drinks in the bar were named after famous movie titles such as Pretty Woman, Godfather, Gone with the Wind and Some Like it Hot.

PFA employees turned out to be amazing dancers. The dance floor was packed the entire night to fabulous disco tunes delivered by Bobo Moreno & Copyrights and Saturday Night Fever.
