When developing a concept TCC always uses our SEE model.
All 3 elements must be part of the concept. They play a vital role for a successful event, however, the weight between them may vary from event to event.
In some cases, the substance may be 80% (as in a conference, for instance), and in other cases it may be downplayed (as in a social event).
Likewise, focus on engagement and excitement may be downsized or upscaled according to the objectives of the event.
The Substance (sometimes also called the content or the message) is the core of the event. Often it is the reason for having the event at all. It is the message that the host wants to give to the attendees.
Engagement is important. If the participants do not feel involved and engaged, there is a great risk that they will mentally walk away thinking “this is not relevant for me”
On the other hand, if they do feel engaged, they feel they are part of the event and want to contribute.
Excitement is all about emotions and people. It a known fact that when humans are emotionally high, we are more open to new messages and new ways of doing things. And we remember what we heard and saw for a much longer time.
